Mass Balance Approach
When a raw material having certain characteristics (e.g., biomass-derived raw material) is mixed with another raw material (e.g., petroleum-derived raw material) in the processing and distribution process from the raw material to the product, the method of assigning the characteristics to a part of the product in accordance with the input amount of the raw material having the characteristics. Also called "mass balance approach" and "mass balance method."
